On the basis of the mastered production of the concentrate of the siderite ore (CSO) at the LTD Bakal Mining Group, the new technology of receiving magnesian agglomerate with introduction in fusion mixture to 10 - 11 % of CSO instead of ore part was developed. It will increase the burden by pelletizing binder components (MgO and CaO); it will reduce the resistance of the layer charge, it will increase the vertical speed sintering, intensify fuel burning and promotion front sintering, and, therefore, increase the productivity of agglomerate (sintering) machines. The decrease of harmful impurities (sulfur and copper) and the increase of quality of agglomerate produced by Vysokogorsk Ore-dressing Complex allowed to partitially replace the expensive iron ore pellets in the blast furnaces by sinter magnesian and increase the share of its consumption at Nizny-Tagil Iron and Steel Works.
