In this work the analysis of 222Rn activity concentrations in drinking water from 12 springs and 7 wells in Yekaterinburg city and Sverdlovsk region was performed. The results have shown that the radon activity concentrations exceeded the maximal allowed activity (60 Bq/L) in 4 springs and 3 wells; the maximal radon activity was found to be as high as 402 Bq/L. The content of radium isotopes was analyzed in 24 samples of mineral waters available in the retail trade network of Yekaterinburg (226Ra) and 4 samples of water from springs and 4 samples of water from wells in the vicinity of Yekaterinburg (226Ra and 224Ra).
