The article considers the derivational types of substantive neologisms in the poetic texts of Dmitri Revyakin, a modern rock poet, giving a detailed description of the word-formative means of such textual units, both systemic linguistic and coined by the author. As a result of the analysis, the author reveals the most significant functions of neologisms in Revyakin’s texts, namely, the nominative, and expressive, as well as the functions of drawing attention to the context and supporting of contextual meanings.
