The article is devoted to the rethinking of the approaches used to determine the economic security of socioeconomic systems. Using the methods of systematization, structural and logical analysis, the paper reveals the existence of the states of the socioeconomic system characterized by normal levels of economic security indicators which are at the same time prerequisites for the regression of the system in the medium term. The authors proposed to define a similar state of the socioeconomic system as pseudosecurity. The theoretical and practical significance of the study consists in justifying timely identification of the elements of pseudosecurity.
