SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of discs or rings from composites by casting. Proposed method comprises melting of matrix metal, placing the loosely-coiled wire of reinforcing metal into mould with cylindrical inner surface, coil axis being aligned with mould axis, pouring of fused matrix metal into mould at reinforcing metal ageing temperature and its crystallisation to get cylindrical billet.
EFFECT: composite hardening in tangential direction.
