Based on the method of calculating the energy-power parameters of thin-sheet cold rolling by A.I. Tselikov, known methods for calculating the required power of drum coilers and uncoilers, a method has been developed for determining the specific energy consumption for the reverse rolling process, taking into account tension. Based on the results of the computational experiment, the nature of the qualitative and quantitative influence of tension on the total energy consumption was investigated. It has been found that cold rolling with prevailing back tension is always an energetically more favorable process. Simulation of the current rolling mode showed that an increase in the back tension from 0,01 (currently) to 0,2 relative to the resistance of the metal to deformation will reduce energy consumption for rolling on a 1200 reversing mill from 108,5 to 92, 5 kWh / t, that is, by ~15%.
