The result of the demographic aging process is to draw attention to the possibility of using the productive potential of older age groups in the labor market. The purpose of the research is to define the concept of productive employment of older workers. The article gives an overview of common scientific approaches to the definition of "productive employment", in particular it substantiates the concept of productive employment of older workers in the context of population demographic aging. The concept of productive aging as a possibility of active longevity of this age group is considered. Reflects the employment characteristics of older workers, in particular the incentives and barriers to workforce integration in the labor market. Theoretical foundations and modern interpretation of the productive employment concept are revealed. Based on the analysis of existing scientific approaches to the interpretation of productive employment, the authors have developed recommendations for the use of productive potential of older workers in the workplace. The proposed recommendations can be used in the development of state measures to stimulate the employment of older people with productive potential, including the development of entrepreneurship in older age, expanding the information environment to attract older people to employment.
