The quantitative estimation of structure banding in alloyed steels 40KhN2MA, 38KhGMA, 20KhN3A was carried out. The anisotropy index (ASTM E 1268) dependence on the diameter of the steel bar and the position of the specimen in the cross section was obtained. The relationship between the anisotropy index and mechanical properties of the studied steels (the scatter of the microhardness values and anisotropy of the impact strength) was revealed.
