FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nanotubular titanium dioxide (TiO2-NT) with high photocatalytic activity by anodizing. Method of obtaining a photocatalyst based on nanotubular titanium dioxide involves a process for anodizing titanium in a fluorine-containing solution of ethylene glycol at voltage of 10–120 V. Cathode used is corrosion-resistant steel. Anodizing is carried out for 120 minutes, annealing of obtained amorphous layer is carried out in air for 1 hour at temperature from 300 to 600 °C. Duration of process is reduced by 9 times due to selection of conditions of anodizing - chemical composition of electrolyte, cathode material, voltage and medium temperature. EFFECT: initial roughness of industrial titanium foil of BT1-0 grade is permissible for obtaining uniform oxide layer from titanium dioxide nanotubes, therefore there is no need for mechanical polishing when preparing titanium for anodising.
