The article studies the concept of avant-garde social community. The features of avant-garde social communities and their social functions are defined. Based on the sociological research data the dedicated avant-garde communities of modern Russian society are marked out, their position within a social avant-garde community is justified. The temporal behavior strategies of these communities are shown as key features of avant-gardism.
