The modified derived meaning is usually treated as a meaning, which is formed on the basis of the derivational meaning by means of modification of various kinds, whereas mutation is aimed at basically changing its inner semantic structure. The article deals with the modification of the verbal action derivation type on the example of prefixed verbs of characteristic speech activity.
