The problem of cultural, historical and musical relations in the field of composition is investigated. Various aspects of creative “intersections” of the outstanding master from St. Petersburg - S. M. Slonimsky with great P. I. Tchaikovsky (biographical, genre, thematic, stylistic, etc.) are presented. It is concluded that the original, bright, innovative development of traditions of Tchaikovsky in the works of the master of modern musical culture.
