In order to solve various problems and tasks that arise in economic activities, it is necessary to conduct a special study, which is carried out by highly qualified specialists (experts). The expert bases his judgment on the legislative framework, experience, scientific knowledge in various fields of economics and other knowledge, as well as a sense of inner conviction. This article is devoted to the understanding of the concept of forensic economic expertise and the specifics of methodological tools for its implementation, as an applied research in order to obtain not scientific, but practical knowledge and results in the conditions of economic conditions. The special feature of expert research is the use of specific and characteristic methods and techniques that meet the criteria of verifiability. It is concluded that forensic economic expertise should be carried out within the framework of legal proceedings, certain regulations, the procedure for conducting them, which are determined by the specifics and features of the subject of study, as well as the scope of application of the expert's special professional knowledge.
