Purpose. The study is devoted to the analysis of various aspects of state regulation of sports volunteering in Russia and other countries. Methods. The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of sports volunteering legislation in Australia, China and Russia. Results. The authors determine the structure and characteristics of the state regulation of sports volunteering. The article presents the results of comparing the practice of state regulation of sports volunteering in Australia, China and Russia. Characteristics of the sports volunteering legislation in these countries are given in the study. The authors have revealed the national peculiarities of the sports volunteering management system, the priorities of the state policy in the sphere of sports volunteering (support, encouragement, etc.), as well as some features of sports volunteers. Scientific novelty. The authors consider the state regulation of sports volunteering as a research problem. The study presents an assessment of state regulation of sports volunteerism in our country in comparison with the development of the legislation framework, mechanisms for stimulating and encouraging sports volunteering in Australia and China.
