The article is devoted to game journalism and its role in the formation of video game culture in Russia. The historical material reveals the problem of incompleteness of information on this topic. We propose our own version of the definition and description of the stages of development of game periodicals in Russia from the 1970s to the present day. The immediate prospects of this development are outlined. The influence of game journalism on game culture is considered.
