The article is devoted to the study of business corruption. The types of business corruption are analyzed. The points of view of various authors on the forms of manifestation and consequences of business corruption are considered. To assess the level of business corruption in the Irkutsk region, a sociological survey among business representatives of the region was conducted. According to the results, 21.4% of the economic entities of the Irkutsk region are involved in corruption. According to the responses of respondents who committed corrupt acts, in 38% of cases they could practically not avoid corrupt actions in their economic activities. This led to the conclusion about the institutionalization of corruption in the economic environment. For some Russian businessmen, corruption has become a necessary condition for ensuring the success of running their own business. The highest level of business corruption was found in organizations engaged in mining, information technology and communications, as well as financial services. An assessment of corruption in public procurement was carried out.
