Theoretical and methodological aspects of the development of electric power engineering in the conditions of the industry reform are considered. The technique of diagnostics of a condition of regional electric power industry is offered. The optimization object-structural model of the territorial generating company was developed. The methodology for assessing the economic and financial efficiency of options for the development of thermal power plants is presented. Based on the developed econometric models, the forecasting of the regional electric power industry indicators was carried out to identify promising levels of electricity consumption. Conceptual bases of the mechanism of management of development of regional electric power industry in the conditions of economic imbalances are offered.
