The work examines two popular methods of assessing the value of business of operating companies and suggests a new method of assessment, which is based on the net investment capital gain. The article demonstrates the specific features of the above-mentioned approach in the assessment of unprofitable business. The work gives methodological recommendations on working out the strategy of unprofitable power companies development based on forecasting the value of their business.
