The article is devoted to the philosophical understanding of the phenomenon of depression. During the formation of the era of transhumanism, the subject plunges into a state of existential crisis. In order to analyze this perception of the world, the idea of depression as a «nihilating» of the thinking subject is used. Loss of the Cartesian affirmation cogito ergo sum leads to self-denial of the patient's existence. The NBIC paradigm is proposed as a method for getting rid of pain, suffering, senility, and death in general, and for overcoming depressive disorders in particular.
