The article is devoted to the architectural decor, which played one of the most important roles in the architectonic shaping of the object of stone-cutting art of the classical era. Attention is focused on the visual traditions, the general principles of the organization of the decor, the classification of motifs, the influence of manufacturing technology on the ornamentation of the stone-cutting vase.
