The article explores the possibility of using numerical methods to statistics on counterfeiting. The use of mathematical modeling techniques to develop investigative hypotheses is suggested. To ensure an effective application of simulation and situational modeling methods, the paper suggests creating special software for computers. Computer programs simulating the process of counterfeiting in a predetermined time interval and in a given location can be used to predict counterfeiting. Prediction of counterfeiting can be used for preventive purposes. Analysis of unique data collected with the help of such programs will narrow the circle of suspects and locate the scene of the crime. Computational methods can also be used to predict damage from counterfeiting in the future by determining the merits of counterfeit bills and their amounts.
