The article looks into the problems of choosing the optimal connection point and power of a small-scale generation source with the usage of a genetic algorithm. The method of indicative analysis is used for the subsequent choice of main generating equipment. The suggested approach has been approbated on a fragment of real electric distribution network of Yekaterinburg.
