Purpose: Study of innovative activity of high-tech cities exemplified by cities with nuclear industry. Results and sphere of application: the authors bring a notion of innovations; consider territories of innovative development and high-tech cities as an economic growth point. They also show influence of nuclear electric stations on social-economic development of regions, qualitative and social standard of living. Methods: using sociological polls perspectives of cities development are determined. Method of economic-statistical analysis of urban processes is used. Scientific novelty. The authors articulate the concept of innovative activity, consider the innovative development strategy. They consider experience of inter-municipal cooperation in the sphere of a budget process organization and taxation of city councils - areas of nuclear electric stations. The authors show the results of sociological poll among citizens concerning the perspectives of development of a high-tech city.
