FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for mixing metal in an induction crucible furnace. Liquid metal is mixed hydrodynamically in an induction crucible furnace under the impact of an electromagnetic field generated by high-frequency currents in the inductor sections; wherein the value of the high-frequency current in the inductor sections is periodically changed in a predetermined sequence so that the electrodynamic pressure acting on the liquid metal bath is moved along the vertical axis of the furnace crucible, creating a travelling wave of pressure at a set velocity and causing a directional movement of the liquid metal. EFFECT: possibility of increasing the effectiveness of induction melting and melting metal of high quality due to the single-circuit mixing of the metal throughout the entire working volume of the crucible while heating the metal intensively by high-frequency currents at all stages of melting and processing of the metal. 1 cl, 2 dwg.
