It is established that the improvement of the quality of pellets from Kachkanar concentrate can be achieved by introducing the technology of their calcination with partial dissociation of hematite. The temperatures at which the fluxed pellets containing refractory oxides of magnesium and titanium should be fired are determined. It is shown that the firing technology in the high layer can be used in combination with the mode of obtaining partially dissociated pellets without reconstruction of the calcining machines. On the KGOK calcining machines, a pilot-industrial batch of pellets with a partial dissociation of hematite was obtained. The degree of dissociation of hematite in pellets is found to be optimal for the strength of the reduction. During the melting of the pilot lot, pellets were examined in the upper horizons of blast furnaces. It is shown that the strength of pellets with partial dissociation of hematite decreases. When smelting the pilot batch of pellets in NTMK blast furnaces, the consumption of coke and natural gas decreased and their productivity increased.
