In this paper, the group of words with the word root -креатив-/-креат- is studied in terms of derivation. This group has actively being enlarged with the neologisms on the cups of the 20th and 21st centuries. With a foundation of methodology for the derivational periphrasis, we have made the family of words that is built up with these single-root words. Its extent, number of the levels, depth, part-of-speech structure have been found out. These characteristics have been brought into the correlation with the typical peculiarities of the Russian family of words (according to A. N. Tikhonov). It let us identify its specificity.
