The article explores the features of BIM-based laser scanning. Scanning collects large amounts of data and stores it in a compressed format on the device's hard drive. The data is then loaded and processed to become a point cloud in a process known as logging using software such as Cyclone ™. During this process, ghost points are removed and the point data is converted to standard transmission format. A point cloud can typically contain anywhere from one to ten billion points that describe the interior and exterior of a building. In particular, when it comes to website design, laser scanning is a starting point even sometimes before BIM. Many professionals today use the scan-to-BIM design method to get detailed information so they can start and manage theprocess early.
