A huge number of natural disasters caused reckless actions of mankind. The cause of fires is in the draining of marshes of the East European plain for peat extraction, and the flood in the far East has brought powerful destructive consequences. Modern economic development of mankind should not allow changes in the natural sphere, destruction of life. Under modern ecological education becomes very relevant use of information technologies, among which, first of all, highlight the GIS technology and remote sensing (RS). They provide an opportunity to assess the situation around the crash site to calculate the area of flood consequences, promoting front of the fire, the spread of chemical or radioactive contamination. With their help, you can automatically calculate the square of the affected areas, volumes of chemical and radioactive fallout, select settlements and other objects located within a hazardous area. Information derived from satellite imagery, used for the solution of problems of environmental monitoring. The use of satellite imagery is seen as a necessary element of forming and functioning of regional geoinformation system of Management of risks of emergency situations in the Sverdlovsk region.
