This work is devoted to the pipe ends upsetting process on hydraulic press SMS Meer at JSC «PNTZ». With the use of thermal imager ThermaCAM P640 the process of tubing ends heating before upsetting is studied, also it is set the temperature distribution along the tube after workpiece cooling during transporting from the heating device to the upsetting position and after the upsetting process itself. Due to the results of this work the parameters of inductors are changed and some recommendations to determine rational heated length of the pipe are given.
