The paper explores issue of patriotism as the most important component of social relations. The paper also shows dangers of forgetting of patriotic education of the population, which leads to nihilism and to denial of social norms as well as generates nationalistic tendencies in society. The author made a conclusion about importance of historical knowledge in the formation of feelings of patriotism and citizenship.
