The widespread introduction of various methods for diagnosing the technical condition of metal structures of domestic mining excavators is hampered by the lack of a strategy that takes into account modern trends of technology development, foreign and domestic experience in non-destructive testing during operation of machinery. Such a strategy should be based on a systematic approach to the analysis and assessment, first of all, of specific diagnostic methods for the relevant elements of the design of a mining excavator, taking into account its functioning. Since the failure of the undercarriage equipment of mining excavators is at the level of 35% of all types of downtime (planned, organizational and emergency), the development of a diagnostic method for the undercarriage equipment of mining excavators, which will improve the technical and economic indicators of the rock excavation process, is an urgent scientific issue. a technical task that meets the needs of mining production. The purpose of the research is to substantiate and develop a methodology for non-destructive testing of the functioning of undercarriage equipment to increase the efficiency of domestic mining excavators of the “mechanical shovel” type. Research methods include generalization and analysis of literary sources, theoretical and experimental research methods based on the classical laws of mathematics, physics, and vibration. As a result of the research, a new approach to preventing of emergency before its occurrence through the use of domestic diagnostic equipment is proposed.
