The article analyses the legal problems of import substitution as a priority task of the national economy, the legal regulators used for this purpose, and evaluates the effectiveness of their application. The author identifies areas for improving the legislation and substantiates the prospects of scientific research on the indicated problem. Special attention is paid to the need to improve the management quality of domestic goods in order to implement the import substitution policy.
