The article is devoted to the study of the nature and dynamics of the Ekaterinburg modern youth’s political orientations. The research urgency is caused by the growth of youth participation in different political actions. Political orientations are considered as a variety of value orientations that are under the infl uence of the megalopolis as a living environment. The study included three polls conducted in 2015-2016. Data processing was performed with the use of the program SPSS. The results allowed to draw conclusions about the heterogeneity of the Ekaterinburg youth’s political orientations and preferences, and to establish its certain dependence on the respondents’ age, sex, social status, income and education level. At the same time, the author identified some common features of young people’s political orientations, such as high interest in politics, critical attitude to the authorities of different levels, willingness to vote for the opposition).
