Pecifics of the sociological analysis of a teaching is considered, it is treated as a social and professional community. Are shown to teaching typology. On materials of new representative empirical research of school teachers their social well-being in which the various parties and aspects of quality of life of a teaching, its relation to professional and other activity are reflected is characterized.
