Information about breakdowns at boiler plants and heat-supply networks of Sverdlovsk region municipalities is summarized. It is proven that the factors causing the average number of breakdowns of heat-supply networks are their length and percentage of networks that need to be repaired or substituted; whereas factors causing breakdowns at boiler plants are their number and share of boilers with the capacity lower than 3GCal per hour. It is checked if actual breakdowns correspond to the standard figures; municipalities with an increased number of breakdowns are named in order to create certain municipal programmes aimed at reliability increase.
