The idea of the article is to analyze the experience of intercultural communications, to identify the features of the formation of the ethno-cultural space of Southeast Asia. At the same time, attention is focused on the possibility of searching for a common regional ethno-cultural identity by the peoples of Southeast Asia, unlike each other. This formulation of the problem is relevant due to the fact that a certain collection of socio-cultural values, called «Asian», has historically formed, which are universal for all ethnic groups and ethnic groups living in Asia. At the same time, the presence of common value complexes among the Asian peoples does not mean the absence of any grounds in the past and the possible emergence of sharp contradictions and conflicts in their intercultural communication in the future. We are talking about «Asian» values as a basis for an effective intercultural dialogue of the peoples of Asia. The main objective of the study is to consider the problems associated with the ambiguous, largely contradictory alignment of ethnic and intercultural communications in Southeast Asia at the level of its individual territories. The article is based on the concepts of ethno cultural landscape and ethno cultural relativism, the research «toolkit» of which allows creating a fairly complete ethno cultural projection of the regions of Southeast Asia in its historical aspect.
