The amount of attracted investments directly affects the economic development of the region. One of the ways to increase their inflow is to improve investment attractiveness. The article considers and analyzes the key methods of assessing the investment attractiveness of regions, which are popular among investors. On the basis of comparison of their advantages and disadvantages the main criteria, which an effective methodology should possess, have been revealed.
