The article discusses methods of architectural research, author's techniques and approaches to their classification, and also develops a level classification of methods for studying architectural objects through assessment of their cultural, historical, architectural and social value. Cultural, historical, value and historical-subject methods, analysis of publications in the media, case studies and memory-studies methods, mental mapping and interviews are considered. All of these research methods have great prospects in the analysis of architectural heritage. The application of the methodology is considered on the example of the lost PROMEKT building, Yekaterinburg.
