Introduction. Russian machine-building enterprises in the new conditions of functioning, namely a post-industrial society characterized by total digital transformation of the internal and external infor-mation environment of the enterprise, are the object of the study. Structural, functional and instru-mental innovations in the information and economic management system of machine-building en-terprises are the subject of the study. Data and methods. The research is based on a systematic and functional analysis of the object and the subject of this study, as well as methods of decomposition and meaningful analysis of structural components. The stages of privatization of the country's information space are analyzed and classified, and the focus is on production and business. The evolution of the goals, functions and structure idea of the machine-building enterprise information system is considered. High importance of using the information resource of the enterprise for forming its competitive po-sition in the market is highlighted. Results. The author's concept of the information space of a machine-building enterprise is proposed, and its essential components are examined in detail. New concepts for the machine-building enterprise are introduced as important factors of the formation of its man-agement strategy: outrunning information impact, product emissions, information security and risk. Recommendations on the development and use of instruments of influence on the external infor-mation space of a machine-building enterprise in order to increase its competitiveness in the product market are offered.
