Based on the method of social and pedagogical analysis, the stages of the process of digitalization of education are considered: informatization of education - digitalization - digital educational environment. The definition of the social and pedagogical components of the development of the digital educational environment is given, which is understood as a strategic resource of society in the field of digital technologies and intensive penetration into the pedagogical practice of digital technologies.
