The article deals with research possibilities of social-cultural approach to the analysis of professional career phenomena. The article demonstrates the results of empirical researches of the graduates' tendencies in professional career development of late 90 th of the 20 th century and the beginning of the 21 st century; ways of job placement, motives of professional activity and professional plans of post-university youth are analyzed.
