In this article the principle of realism is presented as fundamental to the biological worldview, which allows to conceive of it not only in the context of the systematization of knowledge about life in its diversity, but also as a research program in which the setting of goals for empirical and theoretical analysis and the selection of means for their attainment involve orientation towards the objectively existing world.
