Necessity of research of social communities as a sociological problem is given a prove. Author’s concept of the social community and its main features are presented. Social communities, their lifestyle and everyday practices are viewed through the prism of the time characteristics of the basic types of activity. The author focuses on such structural elements of social time, as working and non-working time, teaching and non-teaching time, free time, leisure.
