The results of investigation of mechanical properties and the divisibility of dolomite as a raw material for silica thermal magnesium production are shown. It was found that as a result of firing dolomite significantly reduced its strength and elasticity, the specific energy of crushing falls more than 11 times. It is therefore suggested to apply the technological scheme of the preparation of dolomite ore with the furnace shaft type without crushing the rock mass.
