The text presents the concept of isolating and structuring visual modeling tools, which is based on the morphological approach in its systemic form. Consideration of analytically selected essential components of graphic modeling and their interaction within the framework of shaping is revealed in the aspect of synthesis of a theoretical concept and practical action as the basic categories of modeling processes. With such basic categories / visual modeling tools, the authors define an abstracted “trace-pattern” and a materialized “trace-carrier”. These categories are considered in the system combinatorial complexes of morphological visualization tools, due to the need and specificity of the model presentation of the project idea. The article is focused on research and educational processes implemented in the project, artistic, cultural and other areas.
