In this article the idea of labour nature of activity dealing with birth and education of children is developed. Results of the theoretical sociological analysis of motivation of parental labour are provided. Requirements and factors influencing formation of parental labour motives are described. The author concludes that disclosure of the mechanism of parental labour motivation is necessary for understanding the opportunities of overcoming of demographic crisis in Russia.
