The emergence of network goods has led to the evolution of business organization forms from traditional and platform models to metauniverses. We did the terminological analysis of "metauniverse" concept. Metaverses are a virtual space for a fantasy world that can be used for the development and creation of innovative educational projects. Metaverse is a specific business model that can be used in the educational process consists of a specific immersive environment; avatars that represent a student (and/or teacher) and a set of technologies that allow immersing a person in a virtual space using specialized technical devices that help to gain knowledge, skills and competencies. The methodological base of the work is a set of concepts of business models, digitalization and the theory of network benefits. Research methods - content analysis and systematization. We saw that the metaverses can replace many functions performed in the physical world, and, first of all, the functions of communication, which, in turn, are the basis of any learning process. The change in human behavior is primarily due to the fact that such a virtual immersive environment gives the effect of the so-called "social presence" and "immersion" in the virtual environment. The article classifies the types of educational metaverses depending on the main digital technology used: augmented reality, mirror world, lifelogging and augmented reality. The advantages of using metaverses in the educational process include obtaining an interactive experience, the possibility of individual learning, collective problem solving, overcoming the spatial and physical limitations of learning, conducting online classes in real time, etc.
