This article analyzes the urban space phenomenon and its impact on the residents. There is contradictory of the city as a social phenomenon, the hetero-geneity of its constituent components development. On the material of specific empirical studies the author reveals the reaction of the residents to the urban constituent components of urban space and analyzes the extent of their activities in the space of a large city.
