The psychological and philosophical research presented in this article deals with the phenomenon of a new type of subjectivity - the zero self. The autonomy of human existence is called into question, since the flows of libidinal energy, which could create our uniqueness, are subject to normalization by the authorities. The illusion is created that the subject is doomed to erase his own uniqueness, to exist in the system of markers and management as a zero self. The Discourse of Power provokes the human self to manifestations that immediately become a controlled structure. The subjectivity can overcome this process only through the appeal to the symbolic. Interpretation, life in concepts, allows not only to change the world, but, creating new meanings, an individual shuns the devaluation of his own existence. The stage of the mirror, described by J. Lacan, not only explains the formation of a child’s holistic view of itself, but can also be understood as an adult’s need for the Other to find itself. It is the Other that provokes the subject to manifest its own identity. In fact, the individual is doomed to talk about himself, at the same time obeying and resisting the Power, conclude the authors.
