The article deals with the media criticism as a special course at the Faculty of Journalism. The scientific and methodological novelty of the course is a combination of discourse-analysis and “language & culture” analysis. The author suggests that the study of the media criticism will enable students to develop a critical view of the media content and an understanding of typical media discourse practices.
